MERIDIAN -- It's been under construction just off Eagle Road in Meridian for months, and now the six-story Scentsy tower is open for tours.
Company owners Heidi and Orville Thompson invited members of the media and the community to see inside the new 168,000-square-foot building Monday.
Scentsy is known for its wickless candles and warmers, and the company has grown substantially since it started in 2004.
There are now more than 150,000 Scentsy consultants selling products worldwide.
"Scentsy is a family and I felt our family deserved a home. A nice home," said Heidi Thompson of the need for a corporate office building on the company's campus.
"There aren't any corner offices. We don't believe in corner offices. The offices are on the interior of the building so all employees have equal access," said Orville Thompson.
The building is designed to reflect the themes of earth, water, light and air, with the sixth floor representing life.
There are several balconies on the building's upper floors and common rooms for employees to meet in.
The new tower also features a state-of-the-art commons kitchen open for breakfast and lunch.
"As we eat together, as we have meetings together, we're all one family. We're not a bunch of different departments in different areas," said Orville Thompson.
With more than 1,000 employees, the Thompsons said this new campus is a big step in helping Scentsy continue to thrive in Idaho. The couple has no plans to leave the area.
"You bloom where you're planted and that's what we've tried to do," said Orville Thompson.
The commons kitchen is open to the public and if you'd like to check out the rest of Scentsy tower, tours will be offered Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Employees plan to move into their new offices next week.
