GARDEN CITY -- Drivers with electric vehicles can now stop in Garden City and charge their cars for free -- with a little help from the sun.
Idaho's first public electric vehicle charging station is now operational. It's solar-powered.
A Chevy Volt filled up on volts early Thursday, as the station was dedicated at the Electrical Apprenticeship and Training Center in Garden City.
While a gallon of gas in Idaho costs about $3.70 a gallon, charging at this station is free.
