NAMPA -- Idaho craft breweries congregated in Nampa for the Idaho Brewers' Festival Saturday. It is a celebration to promote Idaho products in the beer industry. The festival featured 18 brewers, all from the Gem State---from Sandpoint to Pocatello.
Organizers said it was a great event because some of these are beers you can get here in the valley. They said Idaho is catching up on the craft brewing scene in neighbor states Oregon and Washington.
"I think people are finally getting a grasp of there's more flavor to beer than just the plain old pilsners that we've always been drinking," said organizer and brewer, Jerry Fergusson. "So the craft industry has just bounced up."
The festival continues Sunday at Lakeview Park in Nampa from 11am to 7pm. The entree fee is $25, if you are drinking. That covers your admission, a tasting cup, and 16 samples. There will also be music and food vendors.
