BOISE -- The Boise retail market is about to get a little bit more competitive. National retailer H&M will open a store in the Boise Towne Square Mall, according to documents filed with the City of Boise Wednesday.
The retailer is a Swedish clothing company known for trendy clothing styles for men, women and children. H&M plans to open its first outlet in Idaho in the space formerly occupied by Borders Books & Music near the mall's main entrance. Borders closed last year when the chain went out of business.
The new 22,000 square foot store will see an extensive exterior remodel to match H&M's traditional store look. A typical H&M store features a selection of affordably-priced clothing styles for all ages. Right now the nearest stores are in Salt Lake City & Portland.
H&M is the latest in a string of new national stores open or in the works at the mall. Nordstrom Rack, Dave & Busters and Ulta Beauty are adding outlets at the mall.
No timeline for the store's opening was available Wednesday night.
