BOISE -- Fans of ESPN Radio will have go down the dial a bit to find some of their favorite sports programs.
Boise radio station AM 730 KINF today announced that it will be Idaho's new home for ESPN radio beginning on Jan. 1, 2013. ESPN Radio is currently broadcast on 1350 AM KTIK.
That includes all of ESPN's programs such as Mike and Mike, Colin Cowherd and Scott Van Pelt.
“This is a great fit for Boise and the Treasure Valley. We could not be happier with our plans to move forward with the proven world-wide leader in sports,” said General Manager and CEO of Impact Radio Group Darrell Calton.
Some of the biggest college football bowl games are broadcast on ESPN Radio. There will be live broadcasts of the Outback Bowl, Rose Bowl, Orange Bowl, Sugar Bowl, Cotton Bowl and Fiesta Bowl during the first week of the new year.
Station officials say there is also plans in the works to expand sports coverage of Boise State University, University of Idaho, Idaho State University, Idaho Steelheads, Idaho Stampede, Boise Hawks and local high school sports.
No word on what these changes will mean for KTIK, which currently features radio sports programs.
