BOISE -- A multi-million dollar project is getting underway at Boise State University to create more green space for use in athletics.
Monday was day one of demolition at the former Diesel Technology buildings located on Bronco Circle. Crews are demolishing three technology buildings to make room for several new fields on the BSU campus.
"And that master plan has outlined this current area as green space to be used by athletic programs, student clubs and the students and campus community in general," said Jared Everett, Executive Director of Real Estate at Boise State University.
Officials say the first phase of the project should take about a month to complete, and they hope to tear down the other two buildings early next year.
