BOISE -- A new association of businesses met in Boise Friday morning to discuss increasing air traffic to and from the Boise Airport.
Some business leaders believe subsidizing flights will show airlines that the community is committed to improving and growing.
The COO of real-estate development group Gardner Company said, "the first answer to air travel is well, if there's more travel, the airlines will respond. I think that's true. But I do think that if a community is forward thinking for the long term solutions, there may be opportunities that come up where the community can subsidize or guarantee some of these seats that will help show the commitment of community to airlines. And those are the kind of low hanging fruit ideas we would be trying to help with."
