NEW YORK (AP) — The euro is falling against the dollar on worries about Spain's finances.

Spain hasn't made any formal request yet for a rescue loan, as traders have been expecting. The delay pushed the country's key borrowing rates above 6 percent early Tuesday, a sign that investors are worried about Spain's finances.

The euro fell to $1.3045 in afternoon trading from $1.3107 late Monday.

The dollar fell to 78.59 Japanese yen from 78.74 yen.

The British pound was unchanged at $1.6241.
