BOISE -- Two national animal protection groups are offering a $2,500 reward to help solve an Idaho moose poaching case.

The Humane Society of the United States and an affiliated group, the Wildlife Land Trust, announced the reward Friday.

Idaho Fish and Game officials believe a bull moose was killed illegally last month near Warswick Hot Springs north of Fairfield.

The agency is investigating the case and is also asking for help from the public to solve it.

The Humane Society says just one of five poaching cases reported across the nation each year is solved.

The reward will be paid to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for killing the moose.
