Fish and Game releases Chinook salmon forecast

BOISE -- Idaho Fish and Game fishery managers expect nearly 100,000 Chinook salmon to cross Lower Granite Dam this spring, with only about 14,000 of them expected to be wild fish.

That means more than 83,000 hatchery salmon are expected to cross the dam, and most of those are expected to return to Idaho.

The Idaho Fish and Game Commission will meet on Wednesday to set the salmon fishing seasons.
