BOISE - A woman involved involved in a head-on crash on Highway 16 near Emmett last week has died.
The Ada County Coroner's Office confirms to KTVB that Heidi Lund died late Monday night at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise.
Police say Lund, 40 of Caldwell, was driving a Nissan pickup truck and and had been passing other vehicles. They say she was driving northbound in the southbound lanes when her truck hit a 2005 Ford pickup truck driven by another woman.
Both Lund and her passenger, Darrell Lund, were taken by air ambulance to local hospitals. A passenger in the Ford pickup was also taken to the hospital.
Police told KTVB they were investigating the crash.
The highway was blocked in both directions for more than two hours and traffic was diverted away from the crash while emergency crews responded.
