BOISE -- A Boise woman is in jail after police say she abandoned her baby.
Sara Ball, 29, has been charged with felony desertion or nonsupport of a child after Boise Police officers investigated a report that she left the infant overnight without care.
The Boise homeowner that called police said she thought Ball was spending the night at her house, but she later found the baby alone in a bedroom on December 2nd. She told police Ball didn't tell her she was leaving or leave diapers or food for the baby.
Police say since that time Ball has refused to pick up the child or provide for the child's needs.
Ball turned herself in to officers Monday at the Idaho Probation and Parole office in Boise.
The child is in the custody of the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare.
