HELENA, Mont. -- Environmentalists upset with a federal government proposal to remove protections for wolves across most of the U.S. have posted a manual on how to sabotage wolf hunts.
The 12-page manual published online Monday by Earth First! instructs would-be saboteurs on how to find traps and take them out, and how to release a trapped wolf.
It also suggests blockades where wolf permits are sold and walking ahead of hunters with air horns.
Earth First! Media spokesman Grayson Flory says hunting and trapping is driving wolves nearly to extinction, and people should be able to stop those activities if they want to.
Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks spokesman Ron Aasheim says it's illegal to harass hunters and disturb traps, and a person who breaks the law will be prosecuted.
