MERIDIAN -- For the first time, Meridian's new development, the Village, hosted a farmers market on Saturday.
People enjoyed browsing through the booths of local farmers and artists as well as other goods, at the latest location.
CenterCal, one of the developers of the Village at Meridian, says they hope to partner with the community to connect residents with local artists and farmers. The organizer of the market says it's a win-win situation.
"Long term, we are super excited about the growth of this particular market. We are going to keep it intimate, keep a really juried selection of vendors, and keep it really hand-made and craft-made," said Meridian market founder, Courtney Feider. "Right now, we are the only act in town on Saturdays."
The public market at the Village at Meridian is expected to be open every Saturday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., ending on September 14.
The market will move to the Village's on-site park, starting in next summer.
