BOISE -- Idaho State Police confirm that two people died after their car went off Highway 55 Tuesday night.
The accident happened at milepost 78 near Banks Lowman Road. Police were called to the scene around 7:00 p.m.
Troopers say Howard Koskella, 86, was driving toward Boise when he lost control and ran off the road. The car rolled several times before landing in the Payette River.
Both Koskella and his passenger, 83-year-old Ethel Koskella, died in the crash. They were from Donnelly.
ISP is currently investigating the accident.
A small stretch of Highway 55 was shut down for half an hour while police pulled the car from the river, it is now back open.
