BOISE -- the Toledo Rockets of the MAC will face off against WAC champs Utah State in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl.
The bowl announced Sunday that the Rockets accepted the invitation for the December 15th bowl game at Bronco Stadium in Boise.
Toledo, who tied for second place in the West Division of the Mid-American Conference, won eight straight games at one point in the season, including a 29-23 victory over then-No. 18 Cincinnati.
The Rockets ranked as high as No. 23 in the AP poll this season, and cracked the BCS Top 25 for the first time in school history.
"I think the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl will provide our student-athletes with an outstanding bowl experience, as well as the opportunity to play against a very tough Utah State team," said Toledo head coach Matt Campbell. "Playing in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl is an excellent reward for our players, coaches and everyone involved in our team's success.”
The Famous Idaho Potato Bowl is the second game of the entire bowl calendar and the only one in its timeslot. The bowl will be telecast nationally on ESPN and broadcast on ESPN Radio.
