BOISE -- In Boise Saturday, it was easy to stay fit and get into the Holiday spirit all at the same time. More than 3,000 people turned out for the Treasure Valley Family YMCA Christmas Run.
It's a 2.5 mile run or walk and a 6 mile run. Whichever you choose, festive costumes are encouraged.
Both races started together at Boise High school Saturday morning.
Organizers say the event is great for everyone even if you aren't a competitive racer.
"If you're a competitor, fun to win great race, in front of 3500 other competitors and there is always a good crowd here." said Jim Everett, CEO for Treasure Family YMCA. "Its not just the folks here participating its also the spectators ... we have a great group of spectators."
Saturday's event was the largest Christmas Run in Idaho History.
There were donation barrels and a variety of other ways for people to donate to local charities.
