Caldwell -- A 14-year-old boy was honored at the Canyon County Courthouse Thursday for helping save his dad's life.

During a ceremony, Jared Moore received a certificate of meritorious service for calling 911 when his father, Sergeant Joe Moore, was having trouble breathing.

Jared stayed by his dad's side, urging him to fight until the ambulance arrived to take him to the hospital.

Sergeant Moore was hospitalized for three days and has since recovered.

He credits his son for still being alive today.
