POCATELLO -- A group of fast acting police officers may have helped save a teenager's life.
The rescue was captured on cell phone video from a reporter with our Pocatello affiliate. He rushed to the scene after hearing that a Pocatello High School student had fallen into the Portneuf River.
Detectives say the teen had been playing on a bridge when he slipped and fell.
Police believe he floated in the water for a few moments before he was able to cling to some ice. That's when officers lowered a ladder to the teen so he could climb the wall and fence surrounding the river.
The teen was treated at the scene for mild hypothermia. He also suffered some minor cuts and bruises from the fall.
