BOISE -- Many little girls dream of becoming ballerinas.
An event Saturday will help put some of them on that path.
Ballet Idaho held its annual "Tea for Tutus" fundraiser in Boise.
Many teeny ballerinas got a chance to get up close to Ballet Idaho's dancers and learn what it takes to be one of them.
"Tea for Tutus" raises money for the organization's educational outreach programs and scholarships to the Academy of Dance.
"I talked to a girl today whose mother can't afford to send her to the school,” said Ballet Idaho’s Artistic Director Peter Anastos.
“Because of this event today we're going to scholarship that girl. She's hugely talented. We really want her in our school. They can't pay for it, okay, we don't care. We're going to scholarship this girl.”
Anastos said dancers at the academy not only learn ballet, but also life skills, such as manners, discipline and how to get along with people.
