BOISE -- If you're a senior citizen or have a disability, you might be able to get your property taxes reduced.

Applications for the Idaho Property Tax Reduction Program are due on April 16.

You may qualify if your net income for 2011 was $28,000 or less, if you qualify for the homeowner's exemption, and if you meet one or more of these qualifications:

Are 65 years of age or older, are a widow or widower of any age, blind, a fatherless or motherless child under 18 years of age, a former prisoner of war or hostage, recognized as disabled by the Social Security Administration, Railroad Retirement Board or Federal Civil Service, a veteran with at least 10 percent service-connected disability, or are receiving a VA pension for a non-service-connected disability.

There is no charge for applying.
