DONNELLY -- The snow is coming down at Tamarack Resort, but it's not just Mother Nature sending the flakes flying.
Cold temperatures on the mountain overnight allowed the resort to begin it's snow making operations for the upcoming ski season, Tamarack announced.
Several guns began pumping out snow on the lower mountain Saturday.
"We are hoping Mother Nature will be kind to us this winter, but we want to make sure we have a good base for our guests on opening day December 15, even if she doesn't," said Tamarack marketing manager, Wolfe Ashcraft.
Tamarack expects the cold temperatures to stick around for a few days and say they will continue to make snow as temperatures allow.
The man made snow is in addition to nearly 5 inches of natural snow that has fallen at mid mountain in recent days.
