BOISE -- An independent political survey was conducted on the top races people will be voting on in the upcoming November election.

The poll was conducted online between Sept. 1 and Sept. 9, 2010.  A total of 1,347 people, at least 18 years old and older, participated in the poll.

It was commissioned by the statewide debate partners: KREM, KIFI, and KTVB.

We surveyed people on the U.S. Representative-District 1, Gubernatorial, Superintendent of Public Instruction, and U.S. Senator races.

Here are those results:

If the General Election was held today, who would you most likely vote for in the U.S. Representative, District 1 race?

  • Walt Minnick - 59.8%
  • Dave Olson - 5.4%
  • Mike Washburn - 5.2%
  • Raul R. Labrador - 29.6%
     


If the General Election was held today, who would you most likely vote for in the race for Governor?

  • Keith Allred - 34.4%
  • Jana M. Kemp - 8.6%
  • Mr. Pro-Life - 1.8%
  • Ted Dunlap - 1.6%
  • C.L. "Butch" Otter - 53.6



If the General Election was held today, who would you most likely vote for in the Superintendent of Public Instruction race?

  • Stan Olson - 44.5%
  • Tom Luna - 55.5%



If the General Election was held today, who would you most likely vote for in the United States Senator race?

  • Randy Lynn Bergquist - 10.8%
  • P. Tom Sullivan - 15.7%
  • Mike Crapo - 73.5%

  • Screened for 18+ registered voters and likely voters (5.4% disqualified)
  • Sample taken (September 1-9, 2010)
  • Total sample size (1,347)
  • 1st congressional district (51.6%)
  • 2nd congressional district (48.3%)
  • Number of counties represented (34)
  • % of sample outside Boise (71%)
