BOISE -- Officials with St. Luke's Health Systems announced the first babies born in 2013 at their hospitals in Boise and Meridian.
A baby girl named Clarissa was born at 1:01 a.m. at St. Luke’s Boise Medical Center to Mike and Nance Chou of Boise. She weighed 7 pounds and 12 ounces.
A baby boy was born at 2:13 a.m. at St. Luke’s Meridian Medical. He was 7 pounds and 5 ounces. His name has not been released.
St. Luke’s provided families with some New Year's Day welcome gifts and a $100 Target gift card.
Officials say nearly 6,000 babies are born annually at St. Luke’s Boise and Meridian hospitals in the Treasure Valley.
