BOISE -- After months of uncertainty, those who love the historic Roosevelt Market nestled in East Boise celebrated Friday.
This winter, the Market was on the verge of closing its doors, after the owners placed the building on the market.
Community members didn’t know what would become of the comfy Roosevelt Market, where neighbors gather each day to catch up with each other.
However, Mike and Kealy Baughman of Kealy Real Estate came to the rescue and purchased the building to preserve the future of the market in the community.
On Friday, people gathered for a block party to celebrate because it has served as a community hub for nearly a century.
“Well we are the only neighborhood market left really,” said Co-owner of the Roosevelt Market Nicki Monroe. “We definitely want to keep the tradition alive.”
Kealy Real Estate purchased the building in order to help the neighborhood preserve this historic monument, and see it as a "Community Service Investment."
