GARDEN VALLEY, Idaho -- A small airplane crashed at the Garden Valley air strip this morning, and the two people on board managed to escape injury.
Boise County officials say the two-seater plane crashed around 8:17 a.m. Tuesday.
Chief Deputy Dale Rogers say the plane lost power and landed about 30 to 40 yards short of the runway. The damaged airplane will have to be towed from its current location.
KTVB Facebook friend Kam Neth was having coffee at her cabin near the airstrip when the crash happened. She took a photo of the airplane and sent it to KTVB.
Neth says she saw the plane flying quite low before engine cut out. She says that's when she heard a loud "crunch."
Rogers says the FAA has been called in to investigate the crash.
