MOUNTAIN HOME -- Christmas came early for more than 120 kids in Elmore County this year.

After a breakfast with officers at McDonald’s Saturday, the children loaded up in patrol cars and fire trucks for a parade to Wal-Mart for a little holiday shopping.

After making their purchases, the gifts were wrapped by volunteers. Then the children visited with Santa, where they received a very special gift from him.

The Mountain Home "Shop with a Cop" program started more than 15 years ago with 30 children and it has quickly grown to 120 this year.

The Mountain Home community, including government agencies and residents, help make this annual event possible.
