TWIN FALLS COUNTY, Idaho -- One person was killed and two others were injured after a head-on collision on U.S. 30 Sunday afternoon.
It happened around 1:48 p.m. on U.S. 30 at milepost 221.8.
Paula Greene, 71, of Filer, was traveling westbound in a red Dodge Intrepid when her vehicle drifted out of the lane of travel. Greene's vehicle impacted head-on with a tan Toyota Corolla driven by Raquel Solis, 65, of Kimberly.
Greene's vehicle rotated around and came to a stop in the eastbound lanes of travel. Solis' vehicle went off the road, coming to rest northbound on the edge of the road.
Raquel Solis was pronounced dead at the scene.
Solis's passenger, Luis Solis, 28, also of Kimberly, was taken to Saint Luke's Regional Medical Center in Twin Falls with unknown injuries. Paula Greene was taken to Saint Luke's Regional Medical Center in Twin Falls and then later transported by air ambulance to Saint Alphonsus in Boise in critical condition.
Both families have been notified.
Greene was not wearing a seatbelt. Raquel and Luis Solis were wearing their seatbelts. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash.
Lanes were blocked for approximately three hours to investigate the crash.
