STANLEY, Idaho -- Officials in central Idaho say the body of a man missing since a weekend rafting accident on the Salmon River has been found.
Mark McCoy of Stanley was swept away while trying to get to shore after the raft he was in struck a partially submerged log Saturday night.
Steven Herrett, who also was in the raft, was able to get to shore.
McCoy's body was recovered around noon Wednesday at the Sunbeam Dam near the mouth of the Yankee Fork River. His body had floated about 6.5 miles down the Salmon River before his clothing got caught on some willows.
The body has been turned over to Jones and Casey Funeral Home in Salmon, Idaho.
