BOISE -- Scouts from throughout the Boise area were out in force Saturday morning collecting food for the Idaho Foodbank.
Around 14 thousand Cub and Boy Scouts went door to door picking up canned foods for the Foodbanks second largest food drive of the year.
"It's really important for us to be able to bring in this kind of food, especially this time of year," said Foodbank organizer Karen Vauk. "We want to thank all those people who remembered to put the bags out on their doorsteps this morning."
This year's goal was to gather over 100 thousand pounds of food.
If you wanted to donate, but the scouts didn't come to your door, you can still help.
In the Boise or Meridian area, you can drop off your food to any of these locations:
The Idaho Foodbank - 3562 S. TK Avenue, Boise
Boy Scout Office - 8901 W. Franklin Road, Boise
Lowell Scott Middle School - 13600 McMillan, Meridian
People in other areas can drop the food off and their nearest scout office or foodbank location.
