LA GRANDE, Ore. -- The Oregon State Police and La Grande Police Department is asking for the public's help to find a firearm that was stolen from an OSP patrol car that was parked at a troopers home.

Police say sometime between 4:30 p.m., Thursday and 8:30 a.m. Friday, someone has broken into the patrol car, which was parked off street outside the home and took a Colt M16A1 semi-automatic rifle. The rifle was mounted in a locked bracket when it was stolen.
