NAMPA -- Nampa Police say FBI agents have found a 36-year-old man and his 28-year-old estranged wife near Las Vegas.

Officials say Jose Bueno Perez is suspected of kidnapping Michelle Maiden Perez around 5:00 Friday morning. They believed he forced from her Nampa home and inside a car.

"By 9 a.m. we had detectives and all our resources here, in an effort to try to find him and make sure she was safe," said Nampa Police Sergeant Joe Ramirez.

Nampa Police alerted other law enforcement agencies about the pair, who left the area in a cream-colored Chrysler 300. Ramirez said a citizen tip led the officers to Perez, and after a short pursuit he was taken into custody in Primm, Nevada.

Nampa Police told KTVB that Jose Perez and Michelle Perez are separated and have an active no contact order, because of previous domestic violence events.

"At this point in time, the FBI field office in Las Vegas has taken over the case, at that end of it anyway," said Ramirez. "They'll serve our warrants and then it's going to be on their time line"

Nampa Police believe the two may have been in the Las Vegas area for some time before they were found.

"It takes about, we calculated, about seven-and-a-half hours if you're driving really fast, and they'd been in the Vegas area for several hours," Ramirez said. "So they had some time to contact folks there and do things there. What they did we don't know at this point. The investigations ongoing there."
