BOISE -- The Ada County Sheriff's Office says a teen turned himself in Monday night for destroying several mailboxes in northwest Boise.
They say the driver of an older model Chevy Suburban drove over the sidewalk, then hit a post holding four mailboxes near Waterlilly Avenue on the afternoon of Wednesday, December 11.
Officials say after investigators asked for the public's help in finding the suspect, he left a note with his name and an apology on the house by the damaged mailboxes.
The boy admitted to deputies he took off because he was scared after he lost control of the Suburban on the slippery street.
Deputies cited the boy for leaving the scene of an accident.
