ONTARIO -- Ontario Police are investigating a sexual assault and attempted murder of a 78-year-old woman, and the suspect is still on the loose.
Police say a man approached the woman Friday afternoon at her home in the 400 block of NW 9th Street in Ontario and inquired about doing some yard work.
The woman then says the man followed her into her home and sexually assaulted her. She alleges he then attempted choking her to death. The suspect took off.
The victim was treated at Saint Alphonsus in Ontario. She has since been released from the hospital and is in the care of family members.
The suspect is described as a light black male or a dark Hispanic man in his 20s. He is slender and is believed to be 5-foot-1 to 5-foot-7, with short dark hair and has two to three marks on his face under each cheek. He is said to be soft spoken.
