WILDER -- Two men from Homedale died in a head-on crash near Wilder early Friday morning.
Idaho State Police say the crash happened at the intersection of Highway 19 and Allendale Road, about one mile east of Wilder, around 3:30 a.m. Friday.
Investigators say 23-year-old Amador Cortinas of Homedale was westbound on the highway in a 2005 Chevy Cobalt when he crossed the centerline and collided head-on with a 1994 Chevy Blazer.
Cortinas and his passenger, 24-year-old Daniel Valadez of Homedale, died at the scene.
ISP Sgt. Sam Ketchum said the driver of the Blazer, 23-year-old Jacob Andersen of Caldwell, was upright and talking with officers after the crash. He was transported to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise with injuries that do not appear to be life-threatening.
ISP was at the scene investigating for about three hours. The road was reopened around 6:45 a.m.
Ketchum says alcohol may be a factor in the crash.
Police say Cortinas was wearing his seatbelt, Valadez was not wearing his seatbelt, and it is unknown if Andersen was wearing his seatbelt.
The crash remains under investigation.
