BOISE -- Streets in downtown Boise are back open after being closed earlier this afternoon due to a suicidal man.

Police and firefighters responded to the Linen District for a man who they say was threatening himself near 14th and Grove streets.

Officers blocked off 13th to 15th, and Front to Main streets.

Area businesses were not evacuated, but many people had to be detoured around the area.

Police were able to resolve the situation peacefully.

Boise Police tell us the man is in custody and is being taken to a local hospital for observation.

They say if you or someone you know ever needs help, call the Idaho Suicide Hotline at 1-800-273-TALK.
