TWIN FALLS -- Gov. Butch Otter has told applicants who want the job as director of the Idaho Department of Water Resources that he will not appoint anyone at this time.
Otter spokesman Jon Hanian tells The Times-News there is no timeline for when a director might be appointed.
Meanwhile, Gary Spackman will remain Idaho's interim director indefinitely.
Hanian says the state is saving money by delaying the decision.
Spackman's old job as administer of the Idaho Department of Water Resources water-management division hasn't been filled.
Due to budget cuts, the agency recently had to lay off 16 people.
