BOISE -- A 55-year-old Boise man in hospitalized in critical condition after hitting a pickup truck with his motorcycle on Wednesday, according to police and a hospital spokesperson.

Charlie Brown, 55, of Boise was passing several vehicles in a construction zone when he crashed into the pickup, according to Idaho State Police.

The crash happened around 7:30 p.m. near State Highway 44 and Linder Road.

Officers report Brown had passed around several orange construction barriers and into the left lane when the crash happened.

He wasn't wearing a helmet.

Police say Brown was transported to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise with serious injuries. Hospital spokesperson Jennifer Krajnick reported that Brown was in critical condition as of 10:30 a.m. Thursday.

The driver of the pickup wasn't injured.

The Idaho State Police continue to investigate the accident.
