KETCHUM, Idaho -- The Ketchum Urban Renewal Agency has voted to end its free wireless Internet system.

The Idaho Mountain Express reports that the agency on Monday voted to end the wireless network started in the fall of 2007.

Ketchum Community and Economic Development Director Lisa Horowitz says the equipment is old and would be expensive to replace.

The network was launched in September 2007 with a grant from Allen & Co.

Horowitz says the network never attained the goal of providing reliable Internet access throughout the city, with many users complaining of weak signals indoors and dead spots throughout the city.
