BOISE -- Efforts to energize Boise's West End are moving forward with a new business.
This past January the 30th Street Area Urban Renewal District became official.
This week the City of Boise officially opened the new Whitewater Park Boulevard in that area.
Friday a new West End Boise business held an open house.
Event Marche has offices, meeting space and design showroom for people in special events, the arts, entertainment, and decor. They are also an event venue and have several different kinds of events under their belt already.
The owners said the renewal district in West End Boise sealed the deal.
"When we found this building, we were a little bit aware of the 30th street development, and we thought it was a good opportunity to get this place now," said owner Jennifer Orr. "Hopefully we can help be a middle ground for that and get people moving forward to the West End."
The building was originally a church in the 1940s. Then it become Andy's Supply. The two business owners re-decorated, repaired and repainted but wanted to keep the industrial feel.
They are hosting "Open House Fridays" for vendors who want to show off their work.
Event Marche is already open and booking space for events. They are planning an official kickoff early next year.
