CALDWELL -- A crowd gathered at the Caldwell Airport today for the opening of a new terminal.
It's 9,000 square feet and is set up with a pilot's lounge, Wi-Fi, two conference rooms and an airport manager's office. It will be available for use in the next seven to 10 days.
Caldwell mayor Garret Nancolas says this airport is the second busiest in the state and the new terminal can stimuluate industrial growth.
"There is all kinds of potential here, and we really believe that our future plans for expansion, of the runway for expansion, of buying property next to the terminal, we believe that this airport will continue to expand over the next 10 to 15 years," said Nancolas.
The building is called the Hubler Terminal in honor of Gary Hubler, a long time Caldwell crop duster and champion Formula One air racer.
He died air racing at the 2007 Reno Air Races.
