Mud falls from the sky over Emmett and Star

EMMETT – Viewers from the Emmett and Star area called in to the KTVB Newsroom Friday night to report mud falling from the sky.

They described the substance as ash or fine dirt that had settled on vehicles and the ground.

KTVB Meteorologist Jim Duthie said that a mix of rain and high winds in the area whipped up a lot of dust and created the muddy substance that rained down on the area.
 

While the mudfall may have caused alarm, it was nothing more than an odd product of the weather.
