CANYON COUNTY -- A judge denied a motion Wednesday morning to reduce the bond for the Caldwell teenager accused of killing his father.

Zachary Neagle, 14, is accused of shooting and killing his father, Jason Neagle, 33, in their home last spring.

Neagle is being charged as an adult in the case.

The judge, Brad Ford, said the decision to deny the motion was based on the nature of the charge, which is first-degree murder.

Neagle is still being held on a $300,000 bond in a juvenile detention center in Canyon County.

Neagle’s trial is set for March 23.
