MERIDIAN -- The state's largest school district is hoping to gain additional revenue.

The Meridian School District is holding a supplemental levy election on Tuesday, March 13.

The district says the proposed levy would raise $14 million each year for a period of two years.

If approved, the levy will be used to add back the nine instructional school days that have been cut from the school year.

Four million would replace the current $4 million in local funding that's set to expire this spring.

The levy would increase the property taxes paid on a $100,000 home by approximately $115 per year or $9.58 per month.
