BOISE -- A Meridian Middle School counselor was arrested on 10 counts of sexually exploitation of a child.

Forty-five-year-old Mark Saltzer was booked into the Ada County Jail Saturday morning on those felony charges.

The Meridian School District says that Saltzer is now on administrative leave, pending the investigation.

If found guilty, the maximum sentence for each county of sexual exploitation of a child ranges from 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine to 30 years in prison and a $50,000 fine (depending on the nature of the crime).

Saltzer is scheduled to be arraigned at 1:30 p.m. Monday in 4th District Court.
