BOISE -- Meals on Wheels is about to get a new operator.
We first reported several weeks ago that Elks Rehab would not longer be running Meals on Wheels. They said the decision to drop the program had nothing to do with money since the program is budget-neutral. Folks with Elks simply said they want to focus more on rehab services.
Now the Canyon County Organization on Aging (CCOA) will take over the program, starting February 1.
"CCOA is excited to take on this program because they're already so involved in senior services in Southwest Idaho," said Meals on Wheels director Grant Jones. "So this is just another component of that."
CCOA will take the program and everything else right along with it including the: vehicles, volunteers, employees and equipment.
Meals on Wheels said the transition will not impact service.
