BONNER COUNTY, Idaho -- A manhunt is underway in North Idaho for a fugitive on the run from authorities in Bonner County.

Police say Leland Dunnagan, 56, escaped from a patrol car over the weekend.  Police consider Dunnagan to be armed and dangerous.  He was handcuffed and was able to slip out fo the patrol car because the child safety lock was not on.

Dunnagan was placed under arrest for being a convicted felon, in possession of a firearm, while at his home in Sandpoint.

Police say he could be in a blue Nissan Pathfinder with Idaho plate 7BE9576.  He could also be in the company of Allen Lee Dunnagan, Sr.  If you see Dunnagan, keep a safe distance and call 911.
