BOISE -- Ada County Sheriff's deputies say a Good Samaritan rescued a 17-teen-year-old who briefly fell into an irrigation canal around 7:30 Monday morning.

The accident happened near W. Tanglewood Drive and S. Five Mile Road.

Deputies say the young man somehow slipped and fell into the canal, and had become very cold, but not hypothermic. They say a nearby homeowner saw the accident and fished him out with a shovel.

The teen was treated by paramedics and released.
