EAGLE -- A man who was reported missing late Sunday night was found dead in a pond near BanBury Golf Course a little before 1 a.m. Monday, according to Ada County Sheriff's deputies.
The victim has been identified as 74-year-old Alfred Winter of Eagle. The Ada County coroner has listed the cause of death as accidental drowning.
Dive teams were called to a pond adjacent to West Whiff Drive for a possible water rescue, after family members reported the man missing at about 11:50 p.m. Sunday.
Deputies on scene say the man had been on the back porch of a home and apparently fell into the pond. Searchers found him floating in the pond a short time later. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
