BOISE -- The pilot of a small red-and-white airplane that crashed in Buhl suffered a head injury and was transported to a hospital in Boise.
The man's name and condition weren't released following the incident on Tuesday at the Buhl airport in southern Idaho.
The Twin Falls Times News reports the plane tilted back and forth before stalling and plunging to the grass near the airport's landing strip.
Michelle Jones, a nurse who saw the plane crash, raced to the airport to help, only to find the pilot slumping out of the cockpit's door.
She helped stabilize him until paramedics arrived.
She said he suffered a head injury and possibly a broken foot.
Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board investigators are expected soon in Buhl to examine the crash.
